Great Bend Fire/EMS

EMS made nine ambulance runs on Friday, seven on Saturday and three on Sunday.


Great Bend Police

A non-injury crash was reported at East U.S. 60 and NE 60 Ave. at 1:32 p.m. on Friday.

A non-injury crash was reported at Railroad Ave and McKinley St. at 2:06 p.m. on Friday

A non-injury crash was reported at Great Bend Wastewater at 4:01 p.m. on Friday.

A traffic arrest was made at 9th St. and Macarthur Rd. at 11:11 p.m. on Friday.

A non-injury crash was reported at North U.S. 281 and Karen St. at 12:32 p.m. on Saturday.

A fatality crash was reported when a Utility Terrain Vehicle struck a tree on the dike access road on the south side of Great Bend at 9:24 p.m. on Saturday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded. See related story here.

A non-injury crash was reported at SW 42 Road and Radium Road at 10:47 p.m. on Saturday.

A non-injury crash was reported at 170 South Washington Ave. at 5:37 p.m. on Sunday.

A sex offense occurred at the river at 8:57 p.m. on Sunday.


Barton County Sheriff

A weekend warrant sweep was conducted county-wide on Friday, with a joint task force comprising of Barton County Sheriff’s Office staff, Great Bend Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, and Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The sweep resulted in nine arrests on warrants for various charges.

A theft was reported at 1426 NE 40, Ellinwood, at 4:12 p.m. on Friday.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:16 p.m. Friday at 36 NE K-156, Great Bend.
