Ethan Petersilie of Rush Center and Emily Hare of Hutchinson have been named winners of the prestigious 2025 Ag Challenge of Champions, held Sept. 7 at the Kansas State Fair.
The Ag Challenge of Champions is an annual competition designed to highlight outstanding young leaders in Kansas agriculture. Contestants demonstrate their knowledge and skills through a combination of written exams, public speaking, and practical problem-solving focused on the future of the agricultural industry.
Hare and Petersilie stood out among a talented field of competitors from across the state, impressing judges with their leadership, communication skills, and depth of agricultural knowledge.
As 2025 champions, both winners received a $3,000 scholarship, sponsored by members of the Kansas Fairs and Festivals Association, to support their future education and career goals.
“This contest celebrates the next generation of Kansas agriculture, and Emily and Ethan exemplify the dedication, talent, and vision that will carry our industry forward,” said KFFA Director Ty Lewick. “We are proud to honor them as the 2025 champions.”
The winners will be recognized during the Kansas Fairs and Festivals convention in January. The Ag Challenge of Champions is supported by the Kansas Fairs and Festivals Association, reflecting a strong commitment to cultivating future leaders in Kansas agriculture.
