Burglary in progress stopped
On Wednesday, June 25, at approximately 12:35 p.m., detectives and officers from the Great Bend Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at a residence in the 1200 block of Truman St. Upon officers’ arrival, the owners of the property reported being unable to open their garage door, and that a vehicle unknown to them was parked inside. As officers made entry into the residence, Calvin Jackson Hinz, 41, attempted to flee on foot, but was taken into custody a short distance away.
