The Center for Counseling & Consultation announced the addition of Sara Arnberger as its new marketing director – a position created to strengthen outreach efforts, enhance visibility, and support the Center’s continued growth and commitment to the communities it serves.

This appointment comes at a pivotal moment for The Center, which has recently earned designation as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This federal recognition marks a significant milestone, enabling The Center to expand its services and staff, and more holistically support the mental health and wellness needs of individuals and families across its four-county catchment area – Barton, Pawnee, Rice, and Stafford counties.

“We are building something truly transformative at The Center,” said Executive Director Wendy Lockwood. “Becoming a CCBHC allows us to increase access to high-quality, integrated behavioral health services. Bringing Sara onto the team is part of that growth strategy – her deep background in communications and community development is exactly what we need to elevate our message and mission.”

Arnberger previously served as president of Great Bend Economic Development, where she spearheaded initiatives that brought over $8 million in grant funding to the region. In her new role, she will not only lead strategic marketing and communications but also take on grant writing and research – leveraging her expertise to help The Center grow sustainably while staying true to its community-focused mission.

“I’m thrilled to join a team so clearly dedicated to learning, growing, and supporting one another,” Arnberger said. “The culture at The Center is one that empowers both clients and staff to reach new heights. It’s an honor to be a part of an organization that places such a strong emphasis on collective success and community wellbeing.”

As The Center grows under the CCBHC model, it is actively recruiting passionate, skilled professionals to join its expanding team. From individual and group therapy to marriage and family counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation, community-based services, peer support, and 24/7 crisis response, The Center provides a full continuum of care to support clients at every stage of their mental health journey.

The Center for Counseling & Consultation, located at 5815 Broadway Ave., Great Bend, is committed to improving the lives of those it serves. If you or someone you know is in need of support, contact the 24/7 confidential crisis hotline at 800-875-2544.
