Clara Barton’s 32nd annual benefit set for June
Clara Barton Foundation.jpg

HOISINGTON — After a year of exciting growth and development, the Clara Barton Hospital Foundation is eager to celebrate its 32nd Annual Benefit over Father’s Day weekend, June 13-14. This year’s event theme, “Operation OR Modernization,” calls on supporters to become Instrumental Agents of Change for Clara Barton’s surgical services. Proceeds will help upgrade critical sterilization equipment in the surgical department, maintaining the highest level of patient safety.

To kick off Father’s Day Weekend, the four-man scramble golf tournament will be held on Friday, June 13 at Lake Barton Golf Course, with tee times beginning at 6:40 a.m. The cost to enter the tournament is $100 per player or $400 per team. Registration includes green fees, golf cart rental, lunch on the course, and a player gift. During this year’s tournament, you will have the chance to win awards for three tournament flights – top three places, thanks to sponsors Ehler Chevrolet, First Kansas Bank and Barton County Transfer Service. Tee times are first-come, first-served.

The memorable Hole-In-One Contest will offer golfers two chances to win $1,000, thanks to Ehler Chevrolet. Other contests sponsored by Cardinal Pharmacy include longest drive, longest putt, closest to the hole, and straightest shot for both men’s and women’s divisions.

On Saturday, June 14, a catered dinner – sponsored by Nex-Tech, Nex-Tech Wireless, and Superior Essex – will be available at the Columbus Club Hall, 114 N. Main Street in Hoisington. Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. This year’s dinner features brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, southern green beans, smoked mac & cheese, fresh veggies, dinner roll, and cheesecake.

Dinner tickets are $35 each and must be purchased by Wednesday, June 4. All tickets must be secured in advance, as there will be no ticket sales on the night of the event. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the foundation at 620-292-0814 before June 4. Tickets must be presented by the attendees in exchange for the meals.

The benefit auction will be a hybrid event like last year – with a live, in-person event after dinner and an online silent auction. After the benefit dinner on Saturday, June 14, around 7:30 p.m., specialty items, trips, and experiences will be available for live bidding. Additional silent auction items will be available for bidding online beginning Friday, June 13 and closing Saturday, June 14. To view these items and register to bid, visit www.one.bidpal.net/clarabarton or text clarabarton to 243725.

Auction items include a week-long Branson getaway, a trip to The Elms 2-night stay with spa credit in Excelsior Springs, Mo., a guided fishing trip, KC Royals tickets, autographed sports memorabilia, hand-crafted wine cabinet, concert tickets, round-trip airfare for two between Salina and either Houston, Denver, or Chicago, a casino play and stay package, and hand-crafted specialty items. The traveling longhorn horns will again be part of the auction this year.
