Matt Hiss, financial advisor at Legacy Financial Solutions, said their mission is to equip clients to fully pursue, grow and achieve their own personal legacy. Matt and Dena Hiss were the speakers Thursday when the business at 2001 Broadway Ave. hosted the Great Bend Chamber Coffee. Dena is the marketing coordinator.
Along with an insurance broker, Chelsea Troyer, Legacy Financial Solutions tries to be a one-stop shop for financial needs.
“Something that kind of makes us unique is, we’re an independent financial advisory firm,” Matt said. “We’re also locally owned.”
In addition to Great Bend, they have offices in Atwood and Wichita.
“We are very process driven,” he said. “We take a good, steady approach, we keep repeating the process, and we’ll meet your financial goals.” Planning meetings are followed up with investment management strategies.
“We also have recently been able to bring estate planning in-house. Now we can take care of your wills or trusts and all of your estate plans in-house.”
The firm continues to expand and add new services. Dena said they created the Gifting Forward Foundation four years ago to help clients facilitate their giving needs.
Legacy also works in partnership with other professionals in the community – attorneys and accountants. Brothers Adam and Brett Behrends have Behrends Tax & Accounting Solutions LLC, also located at 2001 Broadway. Along with bookkeeper Kayla Morris, they provide tax services, bookkeeping and payroll services.
Brett Behrends said they also do some business consulting. Their clients might include a startup looking to get going or an existing business that needs help to grow revenue and maximize profits.
Matt Hiss said the team approach works well. “Being able to sit down with your financial guy, your accountants, and sometimes we bring an attorney in on that same meeting, just giving advice where everybody is on the same page is really, really beneficial – highly recommended.”
In the community, Legacy Financial Solutions is known for its investment challenge at the high school. Students have a mock portfolio with $100,000 to invest. It’s a fun, educational contest.
“We want to educate our kids on how to handle their finances, how to live within their means, and how to do all those things to be successful later in life,” Matt said. “It has a very big ripple effect. If you get started early and get it done right, it makes a big difference.”
