Resurfacing will begin soon on combined K-19 projects in Pawnee and Stafford counties.
The Pawnee County portion of the Kansas Department of Transportation projects involves a milling and hot-mix-asphalt overlay on K-19 from the K-19 Spur junction to the Stafford/Pawnee county line, for a length of about 10 miles. The Pawnee County portion of the project will also be on the K-19 Spur, from the K-19 junction to the south city limits at Larned, for a length of about .4 miles.
The Stafford County portion will be on K-19 from the Pawnee/Stafford county line to the U.S. 281 junction, for a length of almost 9 miles.
The work is expected to begin around July 1 and be completed around the beginning of August, with the work beginning on the K-19 Spur.
During the work, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should be prepared to slow down and stop and expect up to a 15-minute delay.
Venture Corp. of Great Bend is the primary contractor for the $1,901,207 project in Pawnee County and the $1,538,241 project in Stafford County.
