Heartland Farm will host their annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m. Get to know the Farm’s herd of adorable alpacas and even take one for a walk! Tour the farmstead or walk the nature trails. Shop for unique gifts in the Farm’s gift shop featuring winter accessories made with alpaca fiber, a selection of homemade and handmade goods and many alpaca-themed items. Special sales on select products, including Christmas items. The Holiday Open House is free to the public. Refreshments will be served. Heartland Farm, a ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace, focuses on the healing of Earth and its inhabitants. The 80-acre farm is home to retreat and guest spaces, organically-managed gardens, three-miles of nature trails, a strawbale construction arts building, a flock of laying hens and a herd of 17 alpacas. The Farm is located 14 miles west of Great Bend. From 10th Street (US 56) and Patton Rd., continue west for 12 miles. When the pavement end, continue west for one mile. Turn south on CR 390.
