Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! This Thursday, April 10, we have our regular Genealogy Thursday at 11 a.m, the fabulous Luna at 3:30 p.m., and Adult Craft Night at 6 p.m. This month, you can add some pizzazz to your pages with DIY bookmarks.

Last but not least, at 7 p.m., we have ’80’s TV Trivia at Dry Lake Brewing. Come by the brewery at 6:30 p.m. on April 10 to register in person. We will be playing on Kahoot, a trivia-hosting platform that allows us to create trivia that participants can play on their phones. The great thing about Kahoot is that it keeps track of all the scores for us and keeps things moving. Teams are now also judged on the accuracy of their answers as well as how quickly they are submitted. If you know the correct answer right away, you can get a leg up on the competition! Spots are limited to 25 teams, so make sure to register on time to guarantee your spot.

On Friday, we have our next Tabletop Teens D&D Adventure at 3:45 p.m. Although you would be jumping in the middle of a campaign, we do still have a spot or two open if you’re interested in playing, and of course, you’re welcome to just come and watch the chaos unfold as an audience member.

Saturday at 10:30 a.m. is the next session of the Gardening Class taught by members of the Barton County Conservation District. If you’re looking to perk up your garden this spring and summer season, this is your chance to learn from local experts. Saturday is also your last day to shop at our Friends of the Library Book Sale and snag some great deals during library hours.

Story times are back on Tuesday, with Baby Bounce from 9:30-10 a.m., followed by Early Literacy Story Time from 10:30-11 a.m. If you need help with your smart device, stop by the Information Desk between 11 a.m. and noon to get your questions answered during Tech Tuesday.

Tuesday evening, it’s time for our next Open Book Club. This month, we will be discussing “Song of the Six Realms” by Judy I. Lin. Want to join in on the discussion? Grab a copy of the book at the front desk.

On Wednesday, April 16, Tween Scene will be back from 3:30-5 p.m. to give tweens in grades 3-5 a preview of the Teen Spot and its events.

In addition to our regular lineup, next Thursday we have our April Teen Manga & Anime Club meeting. This month, we are covering “Emma” by Kaoru Mori. Since this series is based in Victorian England, we will be making tea with a twist! Learn to make your own boba by brewing tea, boiling tapioca pearls, and topping off the concoction with milk for that classic boba taste.
