Play Snipperclips or watch a movie Friday
Book Nook.jpg

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! In addition to our regular Genealogy Thursday at 11 a.m. and Read to Luna at 3:30 p.m. on April 3, we bring you Delicious Dishes with Lisa at 6 p.m. Come learn how to add some je ne sais quoi to a simple but popular college staple, instant ramen noodles.

April 4 marks the first Friday of the month, which means games for the teens and a movie for the adults. For April’s Casual Game Friday, we will be playing Snipperclips from 3:45-4:45 p.m. Slice and dice your friends into the right shape in this action puzzle game. This month, we will be showing the movie based on the best-selling book “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Song Birds and  Snakes.” Follow President Snow before his rise to power and the beautiful and talented Lucy as she enters the 10th Hunger Games with Snow as her sponsor. This Adults’ Night Out Movie starts at 7 p.m. and our north doors will be open from 6:45-7:15 p.m. to allow for entry.

Story times are back on Tuesday, with Baby Bounce from 9:30-10 a.m., followed by Early Literacy Story Time from 10:30-11 a.m. If you need help with your smart device, stop by the Information Desk between 11 a.m. and noon to get your questions answered during Tech Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Tween Scene will be back from 3:30-5 p.m. to give tweens in grades 3-5 a preview of the Teen Spot and its events.

Next Thursday, April 10, we have our regular Genealogy Thursday and, of course, the fabulous Luna, as well as Adult Craft Night at 6 p.m. This month, you can add some pizzazz to your pages with D.I.Y. Bookmarks. Last but not least, at 7 p.m., we have ’80s TV Trivia at Dry Lake Brewing. Come by the brewery at 6:30 p.m. on the day of to register in person. We will be playing on Kahoot, a trivia-hosting platform that allows us to create trivia that participants can play on their phones. The great thing about Kahoot is that it keeps track of all the scores for us and keeps things moving. Teams are now also judged on the accuracy of their answers as well as how quickly they are submitted. If you know the correct answer right away, you can get a leg up on the competition! Spots are limited to 25 teams, so make sure to register at 6:30 to guarantee your spot.
