Students from Barton’s chapter of HOSA (Future Health Professionals) joined about 13,000 students in Nashville, Tenn. earlier this summer at the 2025 International Leadership Conference (ILC), where they competed against students from the U.S. as well as students from Canada, Japan, China, Korea, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
The results from the competition were as follows: Hannah Dapogny, Clinical Nursing, third place; Haley McCormick, Phlebotomy, fifth place; Kaden Baird, Respiratory Therapy, second place; Valeria Gallardo, Biotechnology, third place; Aaron Deason, Sports Medicine, seventh place; Karen Gunther, Barton Advisor and International Competitive Event Committee Four-year, ILC - CE Service Award of Excellence; Great Bend High School HOSA, the team of Murphy and Murphy placed top 10 in Medical Innovations
HOSA is a global, student-led organization recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services. The group’s mission is to empower members to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience. HOSA actively promotes career opportunities in the health industry and aims to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
