Dr. Samuel A. Beugelsdijk, MS, DC and colleagues at Beugelsdijk Chiropractic, 1309 Williams St., hosted Thursday’s Great Bend Chamber of Commerce Coffee.

Beugelsdijk described the multidisciplinary clinic’s offerings of chiropractic service, massage therapy, reflexology and nutrition. They serve all ages of patients, from infants (and pregnant women) to teens with sports injuries and hard-working adults. “We’re in ‘tractor back’ season right now, so we’re keeping busy with that,” he said. “And then seniors wanting to stay active, wanting to continue to do the things they enjoy.”

Others at the office are Dr. Lauren A. Spore, DC; Lindsay Jo Martin, massage therapist; and Lori Ann Reber, CNHP, reflexologist.

There are several rooms at the clinic patient care. “We’ve got roller tables, to stretch out. We do decompression therapy for both lumbar and cervical.”

The big new thing added this year is StemWave cellular response technology (CRT), which utilizes acoustic waves to activate the body’s natural healing mechanism.

“It’s definitely changed the way we have run things here in our office,” he said. “It’s made a big difference for patients, helping a lot with chronic pain issues.”

Reber, a QT practitioner, has started OWN – Optimal Wellness and Nutrition.

“We offer consultations for those that are truly wanting to get healthy at a different level – a holistic kind of level,” she said. “We offer adaptogenic herbal products – they are fabulous, wonderful.”

When clients visit for the first time, the consultation starts with a detailed review of their habits and goals. “Between the massage and the reflexology and the Optimal Wellness and Nutrition and the chiropractic and the StemWave, that’s putting it all together. It’s a package,” she said. “Remember that optimal wellness and nutrition – and complete wellness – is the mind and body connection. It all works together; you cannot separate them.”

So what does a first visit look like? Beugelsdijk said they will "go through a client’s health history and exam, check your range of motion. (There may be) orthopedic tests, depending on the body that we’re focusing on. From there, we make a plan ... that’s going to be the best approach to get you to where you want to be.”

He added, “We move forward from there, whether it’s chiropractic adjustments or our other services here, we put together a plan and we follow through. Patients do respond really well.”

Insurance will cover some services and there is an option called PCD – preferred chiropractic doctor. With a PCD membership, a client, spouse and family will receive a discount. They are in-network with many major insurance companies and they also accept Medicare.
