The Kansas Department of Transportation announces approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place Dec. 17 in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.

Local approved bids are: K‑156, from the Barton/Ellsworth county line east to the north city limits of Ellsworth, milling and overlay, 20.2 miles, Venture Corp., Great Bend, $5,577,048.74; K‑156, bridge #007 over Walnut Creek Drainage located 1.17 miles northeast of the U.S. 56 junction, bridge repair, L & M Contractors Inc., Great Bend, $505,096.40.
