STAFFORD — Last week was the perfect week for all the furniture moving. Many patrons stayed home because of the cold and we got most things moved in one day. The HUGE circulation desk, that has been in the same place for over a century, is now in a new corner. How did we move it in one piece?
As Mike Cargill says, “Like the Egyptians did, on rollers!”
Steve Hartnett, with a multitude of PVC pipes, Mike and Sandy moved it in less time than it took to figure out how to do it. Come in and enjoy our new space.
Recently Read met Tuesday night with nine of us showing up in the cold. We really had a nice time talking about books and authors. The only thing that would make it better is even more book friends joining us. Books Read:
• The Mad Wife by Megan Church
• James by Percavial Everett
• The Kept by James Scott
• The Rhino Keeper by Jillian Forsberg
• The Covenant of Water & Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
• The Tenant & The Crash by Freida Mcfadden
• Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
• Cazalet series by Elizabth Jane Howard
• The Wings of Refuge by Lynn Austin
• When We Were Brilliant by Lynn Cullen (Marilyn Monroe)
• Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
• Appetite for America by Stephen Fried (Fred Harvey story)
• The Proving Ground by Michael Connelly
• Culpability by Bruce Holsinger
• Gone Before Goodbye by Reese Witherspoon & Harlan Coben
• The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett
• Cowgirls by Teresa Jordan
Friday, Nancy Hildebrand led a great workshop on watercolor painting. We had a full table of ladies that had a great time making beautiful pictures! The technique was easy and so beautiful that their practice sheet even looked great!
