A new court date has been set for the Ellinwood woman charged with first-degree murder following the death of a four-month-old baby in her care. Christy M. Nemnich is scheduled to appear in Barton County District Court on March 5.

She is charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of child abuse and one count of operating an unlicensed day care in connection with the March 28, 2023, death in Barton County. Her scheduled arraignment on Dec. 18 was postponed at the request of the defense attorneys.
