Downtown merchants and Great Bend Alive welcome residents to “beat the winter blues and cozy up to unbeatable deals” at the Snowball Drop on Saturday, January 11, at 10:15 a.m. inside the historic Crest Theater at 1905 Lakin Ave.

This fun and free event is part of the City of Great Bend’s “Whine About Winter Sale.” Organizers promise excitement for all ages and incredible prizes to kickstart a shopping day.

Hosted by Great Bend Alive, the Snowball Drop will feature 300 numbered snowballs from the balcony of the theater. Each ball is redeemable for discounts, gift cards, or prizes donated by downtown businesses. Attendees can catch up to three snowballs per person and enjoy rewards like a $65 value gift basket, perfume, gift sets, BOGO, $5 off a $10 meal, $25 Chamber gift certificates, and other exclusive deals on services and products from participating stores.

Before the snowballs fall, enjoy lively pre-drop entertainment by Aly’s Dance Studio and Be. Dance Studios, starting at 10 a.m.

“This is a great way to bring the community together, showcase our downtown businesses, and have fun shopping locally,” said Lee Ann June, communication director for Great Bend Economic Development, the parent organization of Great Bend Alive.

After claiming their prizes, participants are encouraged to explore downtown Great Bend and take advantage of the incredible sales and offers available during the “Whine About Winter Sale.” For more information on the stores participating in the sale, check out the Explore Great Bend Facebook page.

This event is part of an ongoing partnership with the City of Great Bend. It also supports the mission of Great Bend Alive to promote our historic downtown and the businesses in it.
