United States Navy World War II veteran Robert Rowland was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on March 28, 2025 at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. Rowland served from 1943 to 1946. The quilt top was made by LaWanna Krestine; quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.
