The City of Great Bend announced Thursday that the temporary water conservation measures at the Great Bend Airport Industrial Complex have been lifted. Repairs to the pump servicing the industrial-area system have been successfully completed and full operating capacity has been restored.
Throughout the conservation period announced Wednesday, businesses in the industrial complex played an essential role in maintaining adequate pressure and flow. By following the conservation request, users helped stabilize the system and ensured that essential operations could continue without interruption.
This issue was isolated to the Airport Industrial Complex and did not affect the City of Great Bend’s municipal water supply or residential service at any time. With repairs complete, businesses may now resume normal water usage.
“We appreciate the cooperation and patience shown by the businesses in the industrial complex while our crews and contractors worked to restore service,” said Director of Public Utilities Darren Doonan. “Their efforts in reducing non-essential water use helped us maintain reliable pressure while repairs were underway. The system is now performing as intended, and no further conservation measures are needed at this time.”
