ST. JOHN — These are the minutes from the Stafford County Board of County Commissioner meeting.
The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, Sept. 17, in the Commission Room in the Arlnex. Chairman
Stanford called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present Jim Stanford, Bryce Garner, and Todd Wycoff.
Carl Miller, Planning & Zoning, met with the commissioners to give an update for the department He gave the commissioners a copy of the minutes from the zoning hearing. He also advised that the resolution for the communications tower would be presented at next week’s meeting. He also discussed the fee schedule for the zoning department and the possibility of some changes. The revised solar commercial and battery regulations were presented to the commissioners for their final review.
Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Garner seconded, to approve the minutes from the Sept. 10 meeting.
Trisha Greene, Bailey Doggett. Jewell Glover, and Jennifer Gleason with 21 Central Extension District met with the commissioners to give an update on all of the various activities that each one of them is currently overseeing. Trisha discussed the programs she facilitates in the schools, Medicare counseling, and childcare training programs.
Bailey advised that Ag Day will be held next Wednesday. She explained that she is working with the eighth-grade class in St. John regarding agricultural issues. She discussed the elementary program Farm to Pizza that explains to young students where our food comes from. She shared the wheat plot results and discussed the tractor safely program.
Jewell Glover discussed 4-H camp that was attended by 12 kids as well as the 4-H Fair participation this year. She is going to be visiting the schools to promote 4-H to students. She explained a new virtual career program that she will be utilizing.
Jennifer Gleason discussed the fall prevention exercise program that she and Shannon Snyder are doing. She highlighted the city park plan that she and Nancy Hildebrand are pursuing in Stafford.
Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Wycoff seconded, to approve Resolution 2025-18 regarding conducting the tax foreclosure sale. Motion carried 3-0.
Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Wycoff seconded, to accept the resignation of Steve Petty as Clerk of Rose Valley Township. Motion carried 3-0.
Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Garner seconded, to approve the appointment of Gabe McCullin to fill the vacancy of Clerk in Rose Valley Towns hip.
