Car rear-ends truck with Ellinwood driver in Sedgwick County

SEDGWICK COUNTY —  A Burrton man was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita on Thursday after the car he was driving struck the rear of a Peterbilt pulling a fully loaded tank of propane. The semi driver, Duane L. Pfaff from Ellinwood, had no apparent injuries.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the 2012 Ford Fusion was driven by Dylan L. Howell, age 30, and his injuries were believed to be minor. The car was eastbound on K-96 in the right lane at 5:35 a.m. on July 10 when it struck the rear of the semi-trailer. Pfaff, 59, was also eastbound on K-96 and was slowing down to turn right onto N 119th St. W. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
