Great Bend Fire/EMS

EMS made four ambulance runs on Friday, three on Saturday and nine on Sunday. One additional call on Friday was canceled while the firefighters were en route.

They were also on standby at the drag strip Friday and Saturday. No patients were transported.

Firefighters responded to a report of a gas leak at 9:13 p.m. Friday in the 1700 block of Lakin  Ave.

They responded to a mutual aid request from Rice County on Sunday.


Great Bend Police

A domestic disturbance at Days Inn, 4701 10th St., was reported at 12:23 a.m. Friday. 

A warrant arrest was executed at Finer Mobile Home Park, 5501 Ninth St., at 1:25 a.m. Friday.

A fraud report was taken at Holiday Apartments, 52 10th St., at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The report stated a Vision card had been stolen and used.

An outside agency assist was dispatched to 218 Pine St. at 3:48 p.m. requested by Great Bend Fire Department.

A disorderly conduct complaint involving a juvenile was reported at St. Francis Community, 2719 Forest Ave. at 7:06 p.m. Friday.

A non-injury crash was reported at Walmart, 3503 10th St., at 1:29 a.m. Saturday.

A report of found drug paraphernalia was received from 17th and McKinley Sts. at 9:04 p.m. Saturday.

A theft report was received from Casey’s General Store, 1315 10th St. at 11:02 p.m. Saturday.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12th St. and Baker Ave. at 1:42 p.m. Sunday.

A criminal threat was reported at Holiday Apartments, 5210 10th St., at 2:12 p.m. Sunday.

Criminal damage to a vehicle was reported at 1300 Stone St. at 3:50 p.m. Sunday.

A theft at Dollar Tree, 3502 10th St., was reported at 4:23 p.m. Sunday. 

A fireworks complaint was reported near Great Bend Cemetery at 10:54 p.m. Sunday.

A burglary in progress was reported at 5102 17th St. at 12:57 a.m. Monday.


Barton County Sheriff

A sex offense was reported at noon Friday.

The K-9 unit was dispatched to 11th and Baker in Great Bend at 1:34 p.m. Friday.

A search warrant was executed at 2:17 p.m. Friday at 218 Pine St. in Great Bend. Law enforcement was at the scene past 3 p.m. An arrest was made.

A search warrant was executed at 4:04 p.m. Friday at 603 N. Hickory St., Hoisington. Law enforcement was at the scene through the hour. An  arrest was made.

A theft was reported Friday at NE 180 Road and NE 100 Ave., Hitschmann.

A fraud case was reported Saturday at 5915 Anchor Way, Great Bend.

The K-9 unit was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 150 Ave., Ellinwood, over the noon hour on Saturday.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:56 Saturday in the 200 block of NW 10 Ave., Great Bend.

A fire (grass, trash, vehicle or utility) was reported at 1:33 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of NW 80 Road, Olmitz.

The K-9 unit was dispatched to Dollar General, 2400 10th St. in Great Bend, at 5:21 p.m. Sunday.

A battery was reported Sunday night at the Barton County Detention Center.

A burglary in progress was reported at 12:11 a.m. Monday at 508 S. Schiller Ave. in Ellinwood.
