RENO COUNTY — A Stafford man was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center following a two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon on U.S. 50, just east of the Arkansas River in Reno County. Kansas Highway Patrol reports his injury appeared to be minor.

George A. Sanders, 78, of Stafford, was driving west at 3:03 p.m. in a 2018 Toyota Rav-4 with single axel flat bed trailer attached. Connie Marie Boese, 68, of Hill City, was behind Sanders, driving a 2016 Ram 1500 that struck the rear of the trailer, causing it to detach. The trailer came to rest in the center median and both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder. Boese reported being in pain, indicating a possible injury, but was not transported to a hospital. Both vehicles were towed. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
