Suspect allegedly shot elderly man with pellet gun

A woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly shooting an 80-year-old man in the face with a pellet gun, Great Bend Police Chief Steve Haulmark reports.

Police were dispatched to the 2900 block of Gano Street around 3:17 p.m. According to a GBPD news release, officers located the man with injuries to his face and he was later transported to the University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend campus for treatment. Officers and detectives began interviewing subjects on scene. They arrested Janie Strange, 46, at the scene for aggravated battery. She was booked at the Barton County Jail with bond set at $20,000.
