A motorist from Pratt was taken to the Stafford County Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries on Tuesday, Jan. 28, after the Kenworth truck he was driving left the roadway in Stafford County and landed in a field. Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 9:50 a.m. on Southwest 70th Ave., 1.5 miles south of U.S. 50.
The 2007 Kenworth was driven by Edwin Francis Weber, age 53. It left the roadway for an unknown reason and hit a field entrance embankment. The truck went airborne and then landed on all of its tires, coming to rest in the field. Weber was wearing a safety restraint; he was taken to the hospital after complaining of pain. The owner of the truck made the tow arrangements.
