Alfred Eugene Tyson

Alfred Eugene Tyson, 65, passed away May 17, 2025, at his home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born on Dec. 31, 1959, in Winchester, Kan., and adopted by Willie and Geraldine (McClure) Tyson. On July 22,1983, he married Nancy Jo Killian in Great Bend, Kan.

A resident of Great Bend for over 30 years, Alfred worked as a manufacturer and fabricator for fiberglass tanks at Glass King. An active member of the R.O.T.C. program during high school, he was a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 180. Alfred was an avid, lifelong bicyclist.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two brothers, James Lee Tyson of Blue Springs, Mo., and Willie Dean Tyson and husband Bill Snyder of Lenexa; two sisters, Tanyia Kay Tyson of Michigan, and Toyia Tyson and husband Rodney Gass of Blue Springs, Mo.; nephew, Joel Gass of Blue Springs, Mo.; and niece, Amanda Casey and husband Scott of Blue Springs, Mo. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Alice Killian.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Memorials have been designated to the Epilepsy Foundation, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
