HOISINGTON — Anita Joan (Zink) Meade, 86, died May 15, 2025, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kan. She was born Jan. 8, 1939, the daughter of Anton J. and Evelyn J. (Vincent) Zink. Anita graduated from Claflin High School in 1956.

A longtime resident of Hoisington, Anita retired from First Kansas Bank after 38 years. She often worked two jobs including working for Dillons and the cash office at Wal-Mart.  

She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Altar Society, where she taught religious classes and was a money counter. Anita was the rock of the family; she cherished her grandchildren and gave each one the special attention just when they needed it. 

She is survived by her four children, Debbie Owen of Hoisington, Ed Meade and wife Itzel of Crestview, Fla., Michelle Goff and husband Mark of La Crosse; and  Mary Martin of Blue Springs; brothers, Jim Zink of Olmitz, Mike Zink of Great Bend, Chris Zink of Hutchinson, Bill Zink of Ellinwood; sisters, Carole Grey of Overland Park, Debbie Zink of Seward, and Marie Mayers of Olmitz; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Chris Meade; three brothers, William, Don, and Tom Zink; and three sisters, Claire Zink, Judy Brown and Janice Stuble.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., and a Rosary to begin at 7:30 p.m., all at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Warren Stecklein. Burial will follow in Holy Name Catholic Cemetery, rural Bushton, Kan.
