Benjamin Herman ‘Ben’ Daubert

BISON — Benjamin Herman ‘Ben’ Daubert, 88, of rural Bison, Kan., passed away on Oct. 23, 2025 at Locust Grove Village in La Crosse, Kan. 

Ben was born on Feb. 9, 1937 in La Crosse, Kan. to Peter P. and Elizabeth (Hemel) Daubert. 

Ben graduated from Otis Senior High School, Otis, Kan., in 1955.

Ben served our nation in the United States Army right after graduating high school.

Upon returning from the military, Ben had various jobs to supplement his income from the family farm such as running a maintainer for Rush County and hauling water for local oil companies.

On Nov. 26, 1961, Ben was united in marriage to Judy M. Boxberger. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kan. spending most of his years on the family farm.

Ben was a devoted farmer and cattle rancher whose life was deeply rooted in the land he loved. Farming and cattle ranching were a way of life for Ben. They were more than a way to make a living. They were his passions and hobbies as well. He was a lifetime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Otis, Kan., where he was baptized and then later confirmed. He served many years on the church council. His commitment to community extended beyond the church, he also served on the Mid-State Coop board for many years as well.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Joel P. Daubert as well as various other close relatives.

Ben is survived by his wife, Judy Daubert, of Bison, Kan.; sons, Mark (Charlotte) Daubert of Lawrence, Kan. and Marlin Daubert of Bison, Kan.; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.p at Janousek Funeral Home, 719 Pine St. La Crosse, Kan. Church visitation will be Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Otis, Kan. A funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Otis, Kan., with Pastor Stan Ewy officiating. Interment will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Otis, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Locust Grove Village, 701 W. 6th, La Crosse, Kansas 67548.
