HOISINGTON — Collene C. (Reif) Schneider, 68, of Hoisington passed away peacefully on Aug. 20, 2025. She was born Jan. 22, 1957, in Hoisington, Kan., the daughter of LeRoy W. and Dolores M. (Tauscher) Reif. Collene graduated from Hoisington High School in 1976.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who was always devoted to her children, grandchildren and granddogs. Collene worked for many years as a custodian for USD 431 and Barton Community College, cleaning while blaring her 90’s country music. Growing up she participated in 4-H and continued her involvement with her girls, also coaching their t-ball and softball teams. She loved westerns, thrift stores, and all kinds of animals.  

She is survived by her three daughters, Nicole “Nikki” Berger (Caine), Ashley Tidball (Leland), and Tiffany Schneider (Jeremy), all of Hoisington; two grandsons, Caleb and Ian Tidball; brothers, Wayne Reif (Daniela) of Hoisington, and Duane Reif (Kim) of Olmitz; three sisters, Elaine Schlochtermeier (Roy) of Ellinwood, Marlene Lange (Jon), and Gaylene Stout (Harold), all of Hoisington; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Cheryl Nielsen; her beloved cat Tulip; and dogs, Digger and Yogi. 

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing. Celebration of Life Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Miller presiding.
