IMPERIAL, Texas — Craig Bitter, 62, of Imperial, Texas passed away on Sept. 24, 2025.
Craig was born on July 21, 1963, to Willard and Joyce (Riedel) Bitter. Craig grew up in Olmitz, Kan. He graduated from Otis-Bison High School in 1981.
He married Kathy Wapelhorst in 1982. Together they raised four children until later divorcing.
Craig was a lifelong roughneck, proud of his work in the oilfield and a man of faith who loved the Lord.
He is survived by his four children, Kaylee (Shawn) Keilman, Jeremy (Brianna), Jason (Jessica) all of Great
Bend and Josh of Imperial Texas. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Molly Bitter, Anna Bitter, Kreadence Bitter, Landon Keilman, Eli Keilman and Brooklynn Keilman. He is also survived by his brothers Todd (Shawn) of Shawnee, Kan. and David (Mary) of Olmitz; and sister, Pam (Mark) Elsen of Albert; and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Craig was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Terri Bitter.
Craig will be remembered for his silly dances, his random songs, his playful “Won’t you be my neighbor?” moments and most of all, the deep love he had for Jesus. His humor, lightheartedness, and faith touched everyone who knew him and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning at St. Anns Church in Olmitz.
