HUTCHINSON — David Jay Gordon, 68, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Thorne Care Center in Hutchinson, Kan. David was born Nov. 3, 1955, in Hays, Kan., the son of Hiram and Josephine (Dolezal) Gordon.

David graduated from Hoisington High School in 1974. He worked for Eaton Corp as a machinist welder for 15 years and Road Runner as a private contractor delivering public transportation buses. He enjoyed spending his evenings sitting on his porch visiting his neighbors and friends. That’s when he meet his neighbor and close friend Terry. On Dec. 5, 1981, David married Janea Murphy. They were married for 34 years before her passing in 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janea; brother-in-law, Ronald Robertson; infant sister, Kathleen Gordon and nephew Travis Robertson. David is survived by his sister, Michele Robertson; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements intrusted to Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS 67502.
