Eugene Earl Finch, Sr., 76, passed away Jan. 2, 2025, at his home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born on Sept. 5, 1948, in Great Bend, Kan., to Merlin and Clara (Hejny) Finch. On Aug. 30, 1968, he married Teresa Avina in San Diego, Calif. She survives.

A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Eugene worked as an operator for the City of Great Bend Water and Parks Department. He proudly serviced his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Eugene Finch, Jr. of Pratt; daughter, Ann Graham and husband Brian of LaMarque, Texas; three grandchildren, Matthew Ford and wife Marissa, Angel Bohac and husband Jeremey, Kaitlyn Finch and significant other Austyn Staats; five great grandchildren, Libby Ford, Maya Ford, Oliver Eugene Ford, Clara Bohac, and Harper Ford; and numerous loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert Finch and Charles Finch.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no services at this time. Memorials have been designated to Central Care Cancer Center, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
