WILSON — Evelyn Olive Anshutz, 100, passed away March 23, 2026, at her son’s home, which is on the same section of land where she was born, in rural Wilson, Kan. She was born on Dec. 2, 1925, to Oda and Eleanor (Svaty) Barta. Evelyn married Leon Dolechek; they later divorced. On Feb. 3, 1973, she married Lloyd Anshutz in Great Bend, Kan. He passed on Oct. 2, 1997.

Evelyn worked as a beautician at J.C. Penney prior to becoming a homemaker. She was a resident of the Wilson area and Great Bend area, respectively, and was a member of the Lutheran faith. Evelyn was a former member of E.H.U. and several bridge clubs.

Survivors include three sons, Frank Dolechek of California, Larry Dolecheck (Debra) of Wilson, and Brian Anshutz (Rhonda) of Seward; two daughters, Janie Dolechek of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Marlene Martin (Edward) of Great Bend; three grandchildren, Erin Martin (Johnathan Griffin) of Denver, Colo., BreAnn Anshutz of Maryland, and BrayLynn Anshutz (fiancé Cooper Beebe) of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Alvin Barta (Loretta) and Clarence Barta (Mary).
