OSBORNE — Frank C. Tammen, 84, passed away Jan. 11, 2026, at Salina Regional Medical Center, Salina, Kan. He was born June 12, 1941, at Great Bend, Kan., to Arthur and Bessie (Nordman) Tammen. Frank married Sharon L. Davidson Sept. 27, 1969, in Albert, Kan. She died July 16, 2022.

Frank, spending his formative years in the Albert area, was a former member of Peace Lutheran Church, rural Albert, where he was baptized and confirmed. He was a current resident of Osborne, previously residing in Burrton and Castle Rock, Colo. He was a welder and boilermaker by trade and put his skill to work operating Frank’s Welding Shop. Frank was a member of the International Brotherho.od-Boilermakers Local 101, V.F.W., American Legion and their respective Honor Guards. Being somewhat of a Jack-of-all trades, he enjoyed gardening, wrought iron construction and mechanic work. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, during Vietnam, earning the rank of  SP4 ( T )

Survivors include his children, Kyle Tammen and Sonya Tammen, both of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Wyatt Harris and Ethan Harris. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorra Belle Renz and Alberta Brack.

Per Frank’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside services with inurnment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Claflin Cemetery, Claflin, Kan., with Rev. Wayne Baldyga presiding. Military Honors will be provided by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, with the family present to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church or Castle Rock American Legion Honor Guard, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS, 67544.
