MANDAN, N.D. — Fred Stoskopf of Mandan, North Dakota passed away on Sept. 23, 2025. Fred was born on June 22, 1939 in Great Bend, Kan. to John (Fritz) and Keeta Elisabeth Stoskopf.
Fred was a devoted, supportive husband to Sherry Stoskopf, a loving father, respected educator, admirer of animals and a great friend to all.
Fred graduated from Kemper Military School in Booneville Mo., went to Hays State, Kan. and received his Bachelor of Science in Education at Mayville State College, Mayville North Dakota. Fred was a high school science teacher before becoming a Superintendent at Tolley, N.D. and Leeds, N.D.
He volunteered as a coach with the Mandan Amateur Athletic Union Track and Field Club before becoming a member of the North Dakota AAU Track and Field board, and volunteered as a Cross Country and Track Coach with the Mandan Jr. High School.
Fred enjoyed visiting his daughter in San Antonio, Texas and “get togethers” with close friends. He also enjoyed his travels to Amsterdam and Kenya for visits with his grandson, and Colorado to see his son, granddaughter and celebrate his 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Sherry Stoskopf; and his cherished friend of 16 years Goldie. He is survived by his daughter Patrina Marie Stoskopf; son John Frederick Stoskopf V; grandsons Jacob Frederick Stoskopf (Severson) and Ryan Patrick Stoskopf (Vashchenko); granddaughter Haven Keeta Grace Stoskopf; sisters Linda Dian Stoskopf and Martha Gail Good; dog Goldie II; and grand-dogs Pearl, Taz and Hara Stoskopf.
Visitation for Mr. Stoskopf will be Oct. 16, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel at 531 Shawnee St., Leavenworth, Kan. and Committal Service to be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery on Oct. 17, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Leavenworth, Kan.
