SEWARD — Frederick Dale Seyfert, 81, passed away Sept. 1, 2025, at Leisure Homestead in Stafford, Kan. He was born May 29, 1944, in Great Bend, to William and Connie (White) Seyfert.
Frederick worked many years on the railroad for Missouri Pacific Railroad. He then worked for Nestle Purina in Crete, Neb., until his retirement. He was a longtime Seward resident, serving as mayor for a time. He attended St. Rose Catholic Church. He was a former St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus member. He loved the great outdoors and was an experienced hunter and fisherman. Being a true cowboy at heart, Fred could often be found riding the open range.
Survivors include son, Chris Seyfert of Weeping Water, Neb.; two daughters; brothers, Ted Seyfert of Wichita Falls, Texas, Steve Seyfert and his wife Lisa of Wilber, Neb.; granddaughter, Alison Mann and her husband D.J.; and grandson, Grant Seyfert. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Seyfert.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home with Chaplain Derek Shore presiding. Inurnment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to Kansas Wetlands Education Center, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
