Gladys Ann ‘Sara’ (Bara) Denning, 74, passed away May 10, 2025, at Medicalodges of Great Bend, Kan. She was born on Dec. 15, 1950, in Hays, Kan. to Stanley and Lucille (Gross) Bara. On May 19, 1979, she married Alvin L. “Al” Denning in Dennison, Texas.

A resident of Great Bend since 1979, Sara was the vice president and treasurer of Al’s Plumbing. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima, Altar Society, and American Kite Flyers Association.

Survivors include her husband of the home; stepdaughter, April Denning and wife Jenn Bales of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.; two brothers, Glenn Bara of Cheney, and Gary Bara and wife Libby of Bellingham, Wash.; niece, Ami Alvidrez and family of Wichita; and additional nieces and nephews from Al’s side of the family. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials have been designated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
