Glennis Jewell Uhrich Boyd

OAKLEY — Glennis Jewell Uhrich Boyd, 89, born Oct. 29, 1936, to Jacob and Anna Laura (DeLong) Uhrich, went to be with her heavenly father March 30, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. Glennis lived in Oakley, Kan. with her husband Lyle on the family farm for 50 years before moving into town.

Living for Jesus was of most importance to her and she often quoted the song that said, “when life is over and it’s all been done, what will matter is did you know my Son.” Glennis and her husband loved to travel and visited all 50 states, Canada, and many foreign countries. They were snowbirds in Phoenix, Ariz. for 20 years.

Glennis is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Lyle Boyd of the home; their children Gina (Mark) Parr of Garden City, Kan., Link (Joy) Boyd of Great Bend, Kan., Grant (Rebecca) Boyd of Medicine Hat Alberta, Canada; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; extended family; and a host of friends. Waiting to greet her in heaven are her parents; sisters Laura Ann (Ted) Holmberg and Delma (Merle) Dible.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be Monday April 6, 2026, at the Oakley Christian Church at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Lakeview Christian Camp or NWKS Hospice in care of Oakley Christian Church.
