Norma Jeanne Gotsche, 93, passed away Oct. 6, 2025, at Medicalodges of Great Bend, in Great Bend, Kan. She was born May 12, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo. to Robert and Alta (Kozler) Horsley. Jeanne married Irving J. Gotsche Nov. 27, 1954, in Salina. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2019.

Jeanne graduated from Salina High School class of 1950, Marymount College in 1954, then went to Kansas State University and Fort Hays State University to further her education. She worked as a secretary and a substitute teacher for 10 years. She was employed at Barton Community College as an instructor before retiring August 1989. She worked as a clerk for the Kitchen Cupboard before devoting her time as a homemaker. Jeanne was a member of First Christian Church, Barton County Historical Society, Zeta Gamma Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and Golden Belt Community Concert. She was a past member of Great Bend Petroleum Club, American Legion Argonne Post #180, and Lake Barton Golf Club where she had served in many capacities.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam Gabel of Overland Park; sons, Kurt Gotsche of Wichita, Steve Gotsche and his wife Linda of Manhattan, and Eric Gotsche and his wife Carol of Great Bend; grandchildren, Ali Gabel, Meghan Gabel and her husband Rod Harper, Brad Gabel and his wife Bailey, Adam Gotsche and his wife Kelsey, Ryan Gotsche and his wife Alex; and great grandchildren, Collins Gotsche, Kyler Gotsche, Fallon Gotsche, and Griffin Gotsche. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 64 years; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Karen Gill; and son-in-law, Chip Gabel.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at First Christian Church with Pastor Josh Leu presiding. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, from noon to 8 p.m., with family receiving guests from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to Barton County Historical Society or Great Bend Library, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
