OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Judy Lorraine Bartlett Stambaugh, aged 81, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on Aug. 10, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Born on Jan. 10, 1943, in Stafford, Kan., Judy’s life was a tapestry of family devotion, creative passion, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Judy’s journey began as the cherished daughter of Noah and Edna Bartlett. She was raised in Stafford, Kan. where she attended local schools and flourished in her studies. After graduating high school she married the love of her life, Kenneth Stambaugh, and together they built a family foundation strong enough to support generations.
Her heart’s greatest joy was her family, including her children, Kathy Stambaugh Martinez and Ross Stambaugh which expanded to included their spouses Victor Martinez and Janet Stambaugh. Judy’s role as a mother was only surpassed by her delight in becoming ‘Granny’ to her adored grandchildren, Nicolas, Seth, Joshua, and Matthew. The circle of love grew even wider with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Peyton, Kashton, and Rowyn, who brought renewed joy and laughter into her later years.
Judy’s nurturing nature extended beyond her family. She was a successful business owner of Ceramics Etc. for over three decades. She had a passion for the art and a love for her customers. Her shop became a staple in the community, a testament to her hard work and entrepreneurial skills.
Creativity was Judy’s refuge and strength. Her hands were rarely still, as she found solace and expression in ceramics and quilting. Each piece she crafted was a reflection of her love and meticulous care. Judy’s baking was legendary, especially during the holidays, when she would lovingly prepare her renowned recipes for family and friends to savor.
Judy’s life was marked by a profound commitment to her family and a dedication to her passions. She approached every challenge with a mix of practicality and optimism, traits that endeared her to many and will be remembered by all who knew her. Her warm presence and infectious laugh echoed in the rooms she graced, and her legacy of love and creativity will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
