June Louise (Fanshier) Koelsch

June Louise (Fanshier) Koelsch, 94, passed away on June 3, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Great Bend, Kan. She was born June 22, 1930, in Great Bend, to John Henry and Jennie (Suchy) Fanshier. She grew up on a farm south of Great Bend. She married Victor C. Koelsch on April 14, 1951, and together they raised a family on their farm west of Great Bend.

June was an active participant in the Liberty Extension Unit, Central Kansas Threadbenders, Club One Fitness, Barton County Election Board, Kids Ag Day, and Barton County 4-H/Extension. June loved to travel, garden, sew, quilt, cook, and laugh with friends in a variety of card groups.

June is survived by her sons, Richard (Mary) Koelsch of Lincoln, Neb., Ronald (Debbie) Koelsch of Great Bend; daughter, Sandy Spencer (Steve) of Atchison; grandsons, Josh (Kacey) Koelsch of Great Bend, Tyler Koelsch of Lincoln, Neb.; granddaughters, Kristy (Nathan) Magee of Olathe, Jessica Koelsch of New York; great grandchildren, Ainslee Magee, Calvin Magee, Lennon Koelsch; and sister-in-law, Frances Fanshier (Robert). She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor; her parents; brother, Robert Fanshier; daughter-in-law, Jane (Dringmann) Koelsch; and granddaughter-in-law, Ashton (Knorr) Koelsch.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2025,with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Great Bend. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Barton County 4-H or Trinity United Methodist Church of Great Bend, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530. The family extends a sincere thank you to the many caregivers at Brookdale Senior Living and Gentiva Hospice, who provided such warm and compassionate care for June.
