RUSSELL — Kenneth Scott Branum, 62, of Russell, Kan., died on Sunday, Dec. 05,2021, at Main Street Manor in Russell.

Scott was born on June 11, 1959, in Russell, Kan., the son of Joe K. and Mary A. (Thomas) Branum. He grew up in Russell and attended Russell High School in the class of 1978. He married Liz Beth (Walker) Branum and from this union they were blessed with two children Sarah and Trenton.  Later, he and Liz were divorced but remained extremely close friends. He was owner and operator of Saraton Pipe and Supply, working as an oilfield and structural steel professional. He was a huge Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. He also enjoyed classic cars and going to rock concerts. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving family include his daughter Sarah Branum of Hays, Kan.; son Trenton Branum of Topeka, Kan.; brothers Kyle Branum and wife Pat of Granbury, Texas and Kelly P. Branum and wife Kathy of Russell, Kan.; grandkids Jayda, Jerzeigh and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Terri Grunwald; and ex-wife Liz Beth Branum.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kan. Cremation has been selected by the family and burial of the cremains will follow the service at the Russell City Cemetery in Russell. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at the mortuary with family present to greet guests from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday evening. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Nebraska Ataxia Foundation and sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kan., who is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
