Kent Eugene Baldwin, 93, passed away Nov. 30, 2024, at Medicalodges of Great Bend, Kan. He was born on Oct. 26, 1931, in Kinsley, Kan., to Norbin and Cammie (Justus) Baldwin. On April 9, 1983, he married Ellen (Hays) Wiesner in Ellis, Kan. She passed on Jan. 7, 2016.
A long time Great Bend resident, Kent worked for Great Bend Packing, Reliance Exploration, The Kirby Shop, and driving a school bus for USD 428. He was a member of First Christian Church, Lake Barton Golf Club, and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #646. Kent enjoyed archery in his younger years, was a member of many bowling leagues, and loved spending time on the golf course. He cherished time with family and friends.
Survivors include daughter, Diana Schuster and husband Stan of Great Bend; stepson, Kirk Wiesner and wife Terri of San Diego, Calif.; stepdaughter, Terri Hughes and husband Rick of Wichita; three grandchildren, Brian Schartz, Erin Schartz, Abbie Schuster; four step grandchildren, Jay Wiesner, Alex Webster, Brian Hughes, and Nathan Hughes; two great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Doris Boyer of Savannah, Mo. He is preceded in death by his wife; son, Michael Baldwin; his parents; four brothers, Norbin Jr., Jack, Vern, and Howard Baldwin; and sisters, Maxine Wesley and Phyllis Deist.
Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, with family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Reverend Bill Johnson presiding.
