LARNED — Lloyd W. Degenhardt, 78, passed away June 15, 2025, at his home surrounded by his wife, children and granddaughter, Audrey in Larned, Kan.  He was born Nov. 7, 1946, in Hays, Kan. to Walter and Bernita (Wasinger) Degenhardt. He married Leeta Harr on May 1, 1966 and they recently celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Lloyd grew up in Hays, Kinsley and Great Bend. Lloyd was a certified welder and was a previous member of the Boilermakers, Shipbuilders, Forgers and Helpers Union and the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary. He worked for O’Neil Tank Service and was the Welding Shop Manager at Ralph’s Rig Service. He went back to college at Barton County Community College and earned his EMT and ID Certifications in 1989. He then worked for the Great Bend Fire Department and for Pratt County EMS until his retirement in 2007.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Leeta. He is also survived by his children, Angela Miller (Martin), Amy Richardson (Bruce), Sandi Anthony (Mike) and Chad Degenhardt (Joyce); his grandchildren, Audrey Bellendir (Hugo Hernandez), Adam Bellendir (Ana), Conner Richardson (Isabella Hadley), Colten Richardson (Kinley), Cody Anthony (Tyra), Kayla Boyum (Alex), Cory Degenhardt (Kalie Albers), Brady Robinson, Eli Miller (Susie) and Asher Miller; his great grandchildren, Hugo Hernandez, II, Viviana Hernandez, Rozlyn Bellendir, Rowan Bellendir, Rylee Bellendir, Rhett Richardson, Wren Richardson, Matthew Anthony, Miles Anthony, MacKenzie Anthony, Zane Boyum, Grey Boyum, Maisie Boyum and Ava Robinson. Lloyd is also survived by his sister, Kathy Foster (Brett) and his brothers, Leon Degenhardt (Paula) and Richard Degenhardt and sister-in-law, Shirley Degenhardt. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bernita Degenhardt; his brothers, Larry Degenhardt and Louis Degenhardt; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Pearl Harr.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Rosary and Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. all at Beckwith Mortuary, 916 Main St. Larned, KS 67550. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Anselm Eke, MSP presiding. Inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to the Welcome Inn Senior Center or Gentiva Hospice, both in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O.
