BISON — Lyle Dean Koci, age 70, from Bison, Kan., passed away on June 12, 2025, at Azria Health Woodhaven, Great Bend, Kan.  He was born Dec. 25, 1954, in Hays, Kan., to Glenn D. and Marilyn E. (Alger) Koci. 

Lyle grew up on the family farm spending his early days on the tractor with his father. He enjoyed being outdoors, being around the animals on the farm, listening to music, watching TV and helping his grandmother by taste testing her recipes! Lyle may have had some handicaps, but he was always smiling and pulling pranks to brighten everyone’s day.

He is survived by his sister, Linda Koci of Bison; his brother, Donald (Laurie) Koci of Colwich; niece, Sarah (Pete) Langaly of Wichita; and nephew, Ryan (Haley) Koci of Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Marilyn; grandparents, Emil and Toni Koci and L.R. and Grace Alger; and brother-in-law, Steve Ball.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025, La Crosse Cemetery, La Crosse, Kan., with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding.
