Marie Ann Feist, 83, passed away peacefully on Nov. 9, 2025, at Country Living of Larned, Kan. She was born April 2, 1942, in Great Bend, to Henry and Anna (Zeman) Staudinger. She married Thomas ‘Tom’ Lewis Feist on Oct. 19, 1963, in Dubuque. He passed away Dec. 25, 2024.
Marie was a compassionate caregiver as a registered nurse for St. Rose Hospital then Central Kansas Medical Center for 45 years until she retired. She loved to garden, bake, and share her blessings with family and friends. She was very talented in quilting and sewing and loved a good game of bowling. She was involved in 4-H and enjoyed raising chickens, geese, and ducks. She was a member of Altar Society at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Above all, Marie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She took much pride in the legacy her and Tom built in their lifetime.
Survivors include sons, Mark Feist of Dorrance, David Feist and his wife Kerry of Aurora, Colo., Steve Feist and his wife Sheila of Great Bend, Curtis Feist and his wife Jodi of Salina; daughter, Lisa Schroeder of Great Bend; sisters, Loretta Kuhlman of Great Bend, Vera Conley of Great Bend, Trisha Mills and her husband Don of Salina; 16 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren with one soon to arrive in January. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 61 years; daughter, Brenda Williams; son, Paul Feist; brother, Henry J. Staudinger; brother in laws, Don Kuhlman and Jim Conley.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Burial will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, with an Altar Society Rosary at 4:30 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. A Rosary and Vigil will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
