Melanie Wear was born on July 15, 1967, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Barbara Wear. She passed away on June 3, 2025, in Great Bend. 

She is survived by three aunts, Bonnie Jamieson, Berdyna Proctor, and Belynda Simbala; one uncle, Byrl Wear; and 14 cousins.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at Dundee Valley Cemetery, Great Bend, Kan.
