Melissa Ann Riegel, age 67, a long-time resident of Quinter and Great Bend, Kan., passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 16, 2025, in Kansas City, Kan.

She was born on June 23, 1957, in Quinter to Delbert Emmert and Martha Mae (Carlson) Tuttle. She was a 1975 graduate of Quinter High School. The majority of her life was spent in Great Bend, Kan., where she was a treasured child care provider for many years to many, many children.

She is survived by her three children, Jason Riegel of Hays (Aimee), Abra Oeser of Claflin (Ryan), and Bryce Riegel of Great Bend; five grandchildren, Jonah, Jude, Lila, Raelyn and Parker; former husband, Jeff Riegel of Great Bend; and two brothers, Jay Sheldon Tuttle of Kansas City and Scott Eric Tuttle of Hays. Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Marty; and a brother, Br. Jeremiah “Dennis” Tuttle.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Quinter Cemetary in Quinter, Kan. on Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m. with a time for rememberance at the Quinter City Park shelter from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
