RANSOM — Patricia Anne Pfaff, 78, passed away on Dec. 19, 2024 at the Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom, Kan. She was born on Nov. 13, 1946 in Spearville, Kan., the daughter of Cecil and Amy (Pendleton) Miller.
Pat attended high school in Hanston completing her sophomore year. She then married Leon Pfaff on May 21, 1963 in LaCrosse, Kan. They remained together until his death on Feb. 26, 2020.
Early years of marriage, Pat was busy raising her family, helping with farming, and milking cows. Later she made a decision to get her GED in 1985. It was something that she felt was very important. In the fall of 1985, she started working as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. After several years of working, she decided to take her nursing career to the next level. In 1990, she started LPN school through North Central Technical School. She finished in 1993 and graduated from Barton Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She worked at Grisell Memorial Hospital for 37 years until she retired in 2023.
She enjoyed life on the farm, and her most important thrill was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading, gambling, collecting coins, and going to antique stores.
Survivors include two sons, Jim (Glennis) Pfaff of Grinnell, Duane Pfaff of Ellinwood; three daughters, Connie (Phil) Eickhoff of St. George, Joni (Mike) Mask of Ransom, Tami (Daniel) Branham of Albert; four grandsons, Keith (Taryn) Pfaff of Hutchinson, Jonathan Mask of Brownell, Mike (Dee) Nelson of Grainfield, Pat Nelson of Edmond, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Stetson Pfaff of Hutchinson, Jameson Pfaff of Hutchinson, Lake Nelson of Grainfield, Nevaeh Nelson of Grainfield, Hadley Nelson of Edmond, Okla.; and five sisters, Mary Wentz of Norcatur, Marla Ruth of Almena, Donna (Randy) Moody of Jewell, Krissy (Don) Harkness of Wichita, Cecilia Miller of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon; and brothers Allen and James Miller.
Funeral service will be on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, 10 a.m., at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kan. Burial in the Vansburgh Cemetery, Brownell, Kan. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kan., on Dec. 26, 2024 with the family present on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Faithkeepers or the Brownell Senior Citizens Center.
