Patricia ‘Patty’ Bahr

Patricia ‘Patty’ Bahr, 83, passed away Sept. 15, 2024, at Riverbend Assisted Living in Great Bend, Kan. She was born Aug. 9, 1941, to Henry and Frances (Schneider) Bahr. She grew up on the family farm with her 10 siblings in rural Albert. She moved to Great Bend in 1993. 

Patty worked as a cook for the Dominican Sisters for 29 years before retiring in 2013. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Olmitz, where she was Eucharistic minister and member of the Altar Society. She transferred her membership to Prince of Peace Parish in Great Bend. Patty enjoyed working jigsaw and word search puzzles, reading, and cats.

Survivors include brother, Henry J. Bahr, of Albert; sisters, Sister Francella Bahr, Sister Jeannine Bahr and Sister Teresa Bahr, ASC, all of Wichita, Joan (Ken) Schreiber and Donna (Eldon) Keil of Overland Park; seven nieces and one nephew, and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Frances Bahr and Sister Mary Ann Bahr, ASC; brothers, Father Joseph Bahr and James Bahr.

Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, from noon to 8 p.m. with an Altar Society Rosary at 4 p.m., and Vigil with Rosary at 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Annesh Parappanattu. Inurnment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Olmitz. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Retirement of Sisters, ASC in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS  67530.
