LARNED — Patsy Donnette Grimes, 83, passed away Dec. 10, 2025 at the University of Kansas Medical Center Olathe Campus.

She was born March 14, 1942 in Woodward, Okla., the daughter of Wilbur G. and Elsie M. Musselman Clapham. A longtime area resident she was a secretary and program assistant at the Farm Service Agency.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Larned. She was past Matron of Honor of the Order of the Eastern Star. After retirement she enjoyed traveling with M.D. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, volunteering at the thrift shop and playing Mahjong with her friends.

On Oct. 15, 1961 she married Merle Dean “M.D.” Grimes at Larned; he preceded her in death on April 24, 2019.

Survivors include two sons, Darin Grimes, Spring Hill, Kan. and Trent (Glenda) Grimes, Lathrop, Mo.; one sister, Peggy Kelley, Birmingham, Ala.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Phyllis Eilts and Elva Base.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Jarred Smith presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
